| Kindermusik of Gretna: a unique program of learning and enrichment for parents and their children 18 months through 3-1/2 years of ages, provides a joyful environment in which musical instincts are encouraged and fundamental skills begin to develop. Weekly 30-minute lessons serve to stimulate the child's development through singing, moving, listening, playing simple percussion instruments and creative activities. These lessons also help parents and care givers become familiar with ways to encourage and facilitate musical development and appreciation.
The Growing with Kindermusik curriculum focuses on children ages 3 1/2 to 5 years. This is a 45-minutes class, which continues to use singing, moving, listening, playing instruments and creative activities . As children become more adept with their verbal, motor and social skills, their level of involvement in the class increases. The children are encouraged to participate and their potential for creative expression is expanded. Kindermusik classes are taught at Gretna Presbyterian Church, 101 11th Street. This street runs parallel to the West Bank Expressway. From the expressway turn on Lafayette toward the river. Turn right at 11th St. by Vince Seafood. Park on the right side of the church and enter throught the right side door of the church. All music and activities are of secular nature.
